make informed decisions when you are purchasing food. The event is free. The Morehouse Medical School garage charges $5.00
for parking.
Jeffrey Smith is the producer of
the award-winning documentary film "Genetic Roulette--The Gamble of Our Lives" and author of the book "Seeds
of Deception." He has spoken about the dangers of GMOs in 37 countries, has been featured in many network television
news show, appeared twice on Dr. Oz, and is a sought-after speaker at health conferences. The GMO Education event will be
at the Morehouse Medical School auditorium on Tuesday, September 17 at 6:00 PM.
Joining Jeffrey on stage will be Rashid
Nuri, President of Georgia Organics and CEO/Founder of Truly Living Well Urban Agriculture Center and Dr. Ralph David Abernathy
III, Human Rights leader, minister and son of the Civil Rights movement. Rashid is a leader in creating solutions to sustainability
challenges in Georgia and is a leader in getting healthier food into local schools. His Organization "Truly Living Well"
operates in-town organic farms and farmers markets and provides gardening educational classes and summer youth camps.
Dr. Abernathy has participated in Civil Rights movements since he was a child. His focus is now on championing the right
of all Americans to know what is in their food and to have a choice on whether they agree to eating genetically engineered
foods.
It is essential that Atlantans understand that 64 countries ban or regulate GMOs due to their health and environmental
hazards, but the U.S. allows GMOs in our food and covers it up. Some states are starting to enact laws regulating GMOs, but
the state of Georgia has turned a blind eye to the environmental and health problems that GMOs cause in our communities. Come
learn why our government is not protecting us. Come find out which foods contain GMOS and what you can do about it. There
